Wish List.

Nothing fancy tonight. Just posting some items on my wish list at the moment. What do you think?

Love all these things from anthro.
And this one from gap.
Alright, that's all I've got for now. Hope everyone has a great week!

I've been a bad blogger.

Ok. I admit it. I've actually been a downright terrible blogger the past couple of weeks. But I promise to try and do better. I thought I'd get back in the swings of things with a list of some of my favorite things as of late. So here we go.

1. Luke's birthday. I'm actually just two months older than Luke so for 10 months of the year, we share the same age. And now we're both 28. (Luke, you'll have to save your cougar jokes until January - sorry!) I got him these maps so he can track the migration patterns of the ducks he hunts.

2. I just finished reading The Hunger Games on my nook. So good. I definitely plan on reading the next books in the series.

3. Kentucky Wildcats = SEC Champs! I only hope they do as well in the NCAA tournament. GO BIG BLUE!

4. Fun nights with friends.

5. Finding old bottles while going through my great-grandparents' old house. I think they're pretty.

6. My new slap wrist watch. (I got mine in Kentucky blue of course!) I actually picked this up while I was in Idaho and I think it's so cute!

7. That Brad picked Emily on The Bachelor.

8. New fave songs. When I find songs I like, I tend to play them over and over again until they grow old. I know, I know...I'm that person. But here's my current list of faves:

Jerrod Niemann - What do you want?
Blake Shelton - Who are you when I'm not looking?
Zac Brown Band - Colder weather
Zac Brown Band - Oh my sweet Carolina
Lupe Fiasco - The show goes on

Alright, that's all for now, folks! I'm off to the gym. Have a great Wednesday night!

Idaho vacation.

Well, it's been a while since I've stopped in to say hello, so HI Y'ALL! I realize I haven't even shared pictures from our vacation in Idaho last month. So I plan to fix that now. I'm just gonna jump right into it.

Okay, first off, did you realize Idaho is this beautiful? I didn't but I certainly know now.

We stayed in a town called McCall. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great vacation spot! It's such a cute town with lots to do - including plenty of cute little shops to stop by and visit. I came away with a few finds and just love them all!

Here are a few shots of the house where we stayed for the week:

One evening, we drove back down to Boise from McCall to go on a dinner sleigh ride - so. much. fun. The horses pulled us over the mountain to a small cabin in the woods where we enjoyed live music, delicious food and great entertainment. It was really beautiful up there.

The next morning, we headed out on our snowmobile adventure. I'd never been on a snowmobile before but they were easy to get the hang of and we had a blast. All in all, we rode them for just shy of 50 miles. The views along the trail were breathtaking as well.

So I've already filled you in on our first sleigh ride, but we had another. Our second sleigh ride involved feeding elk. Yep, I said elk. Basically, we sat on bales of hay as the sleigh pulled us out into a field where roughly 100 elk were gathered. The elk came up, while we were still sitting on the bales of hay, and started having lunch. It was cuh-razy and definitely a first for me. But it was really neat to see the elk up close and personal like that. I'm not kidding - the elk's antlers kept rubbing against my jacket and they were close enough to touch.

Of course, you weren't supposed to touch them but someone (Luke) just had to break the rules.

After the sleigh ride, we enjoyed ourselves by tubing down a gigantic hill. Again - so. much. fun. It was a great way to spend our last night in McCall.

I cannot even explain what a wonderful vacation we had. I loved spending time with Luke and his family and would go back in a heartbeat!

I'm back!

Well, I'm back y'all! I just spent the last several days in McCall, Idaho with Luke and his family. It was AMAZING and I didn't want to come home. I plan to post lots of pictures and tell you all about the trip over the next few days. But for now, I'll leave you with this picture. Seriously, how beautiful is this place?!

Hope you're having a great Monday!

Gone fishin'

The weather has been wonderful here the past week or so. And today, my family and I took full advantage of it. We went fishing - or attempted to anyway. My two year old nephew was the only one to catch anything, but still, it was nice to be outside and enjoy the day.

How cute is this little fisherman?
Anyway, I'm off to get more work done. Yes, I said work...at 11:07 p.m...on a Saturday night. I'm trying to cram all my work projects in before I leave for vacation on Tuesday and it's DRIVING. ME. CRAZY! (This is so reminiscent of my procrastinating college days. Some things never change, right?)

Hope y'all have a great rest of the weekend!

Wonderful Wednesday!

A list of things that have made my Wednesday wonderful:

1. Weather so nice you can drive with the windows down and it feels uh-maze-ing!

2. Marking tasks off my to-do list at work that have been on there for far too long.

3. Getting to spend time with Luke before he goes to work.

4. Realizing that Modern Family is new tonight and not a rerun.

5. Listening to my current fave songs on that drive I mentioned in #1.

6. Seeing the cutest little two year old when I got home today.

7. The fact that in less than one week I'll be on vacation in Idaho with Luke & his family.

8. Catching up with friends via phone dates & g-chat convos.

9. And the fact that I plan on getting in bed early. I'm sleeeeeepy.

Hope everyone else has had a wonderful Wednesday too!

Fabulous Fridays

Sometimes Old Navy has cute things. Other times they do not. Today was one of the days they had cute things. I found these two things (on sale) and bought them right up.

I also found a sweater similar to this one of Keira's from A Pretty Penny on sale for only $10! It was a good day at Old Navy.

Oh, and you know what I did today before my quick shopping trip? I had a hot stone massage at The Green Room. I'm telling you - that must be what heaven feels like. I could go for one of those every single day for the rest of my life. (Thank you a million times to Luke for the Valentine's Day gift. I LOVE YOU!)

Aside from the Old Navy excursion and my amazing massage, I managed to complete my gift shopping for Valentine's Day AND I had a productive day at work. Aren't Fridays the best?

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Valentine's Day comes early around here.

Yes, I realize Valentine's Day is a week away. But who says you can't start celebrating early?

Friday afternoon, I arrived at Luke's, only to find that someone (Lukas) had gone a little crazy at anthropologie. In fact, I had four lovely gifts waiting for me. This pretty bag was one of them.

Soooooooo cute!
Plus, there were two shirts and an adorable little coin purse. *Sigh* I think I'm in love. And Luke's pretty great too - j/k, j/k. (Luke, you KNOW I LOVE you!)

And while I didn't come bearing anthro-level gifts, I didn't show up empty handed. In fact, the night before, I stayed up late baking and decorating sugar cookies.

Before the icing.

And after.
They're not the most beautifully decorated cookies but I think they turned out alright. And they must have tasted okay since the canister I put them was empty a mere one day later.

Now I just have to arrange for the gifts I'm actually going to give on Valentine's Day. (I have a couple tricks up my sleeve so I'm not too worried.)

Anyway, hope everyone's week is off to a great start. We're getting more snow (surprise, surprise) and I must say, I'm ready for it to leave. Spring can come along as soon as it likes - the sooner, the better. Please and thank you!

I'm a good influence.

A while back, I mentioned that I was working on a project for Luke. Well, today, that project came to life - he started a blog! Yes, that's right, I've influenced my boyfriend to write a blog. It's a good day. And while duck hunting may not necessarily be your thing, I still encourage you to take a look. And that little picture thingy used for the header? Yeah, I made that. So without further ado, here's the link: The Son of a Duck Hunter. Be sure to check it out.

A diet I can work with.

I just want to take a few minutes and share my new found love for Weight Watchers. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I'm on a diet. But what I haven't shared is that I'm using the Weight Watchers plan to do it. I love like it a lot. (Let's be real here; I'm never going to LOVE a diet.) But I feel so much better and have already lost 5 pounds since Sunday!

I think in the past, I've done well for days or weeks at a time, but then I manage to really screw things up one day and I get the mentality, "Well, I've already messed this up so I guess it really doesn't matter anymore." But that's one of the great things about Weight Watchers - with the flex points, I can still have a meal or two that's worth a few extra points and not shame myself to the point of quitting over it.

Exhibit A: I went out to dinner twice this week with friends. Now, I didn't go crazy and order the least healthy items on the menu but I'm sure the salads I ordered had a few more points than I had allotted for those meals. But still, I've managed to lose! It's a great feeling!

So between this plan and my new commitment to the gym, hopefully I'll be where I want to be weight-wise soon enough!

This & that..

Whew! I've been a traveling machine the past couple of days. I've visited 7 hospitals in just as many cities in the past 48 hours. But I've gotta say, my meetings have all been awesome. A big Heck Yes! for kicking butt at work!

Anyway, I snapped this shot while I was driving yesterday and thought it was really pretty. So I'm sharing it now.

Before heading home today, I ran into Bath & Body Works to grab a new lip gloss because I accidentally ruined mine this morning. Anyway, I'm happy to announce I have a new product to add to my favorites list: this lip balm. Seriously, it is SO good. You should get yourself to a Bath & Body Works stat and buy it all up.
Hope y'all are having a fabulous week!

You'll never guess who I met!

Guess who I ran into today while visiting a hospital for a work meeting. This guy:

Deandre Liggins Coppin State v Kentucky

For those of you who don't follow Kentucky basketball (and, well, if you don't, shame on you), this is DeAndre Liggins, a basketball player for UK. You'd think having gone to school there and seeing team members around campus, I'd not freak out. But I do.

MIA again.

So, I've been MIA for a few days again. I'm sorry about that. I'm including a list of all my excuses. Hopefully they count for something.

- I had to travel quite a bit for work and had a very early training meeting to facilitate.
- I was still getting over my cold. No worries though, I'm all better now.
- I spent some time in Tennessee with Luke while he was home on a break from duck hunting. I was very happy about that one.
- I have been spending more time in the gym.
- I started a new book on my nook and have been reading a lot more.
- I watched Kentucky beat South Carolina on Saturday. (Thank goodness!)
- I've been working on a little project for Lukas.
- And I mean, a girl's gotta get some rest every now and then, right?

But I'll do better. Promise. In the mean time, here are some nice things for you to look at:

From Better Homes and Gardens.
